His greatest achievement was the unexpected 1980 Grand Slam, something which is achieved when a team in the Six Nations (previously Five Nations) beats all other competitors in one year. Since 1999, Beaumont has represented England on the International Rugby Board and became Chairman of World Rugby in 2016.
